SCE Charge Ready Home

Prepare your home for EV charging - and receive up to $4,200

Eligible Southern California Edison customers may receive a rebate toward a 200-amp electrical panel upgrade and dedicated 240-volt circuit for a Level 2 EV charger.

Apply with SCE Call Excellence Electric

$4,200 Income-qualified rebate For households below 80% of area median income or enrolled in at least one qualifying public assistance program.

$2,100 Geographic-based rebate For qualified households located in a designated disadvantaged community.

Start with the essentials

Could your home qualify?

The program is designed to help eligible households prepare for at-home Level 2 EV charging. SCE and its program administrator make the final eligibility and funding decisions.

Core eligibility

SCE customer: the residence must be in Southern California Edison's service territory.
Single-family home: detached or attached, with its own electric panel and no shared meter.
Panel below 200 amps: the existing main panel must need an upgrade for added EV charging load.
Income or location: meet either the income-qualified or disadvantaged-community criteria above.

How it works

Create an account and submit an application at the official Charge Ready Home website.
Choose a licensed contractor or use SCE's participating-contractor lookup.
Complete the upgrade and work with the contractor to submit the required documents.
Receive the approved rebate electronically to the contractor or by mail to you, as applicable.

Timing and funding

Know the key windows

No fixed program end date is stated on the source flyer. Funding is reserved only after an application has been reviewed and approved by the program administrator, so confirm current availability on SCE's official site.

6 mo.: You may apply while planning, during installation, or up to six months after the panel upgrade is completed.
180 days: Participants must intend to install a Level 2 EV charger within 180 days after receiving the electrical panel upgrade rebate.
